DJB Specialties acquires GForce Promotions

DJB Specialties acquires GForce Promotions New Britain, PA – September 14, 2016 – DJB Specialties, a promotional gift and licensed apparel distributor, acquires Philadelphia based corporate gift specialists GForce Promotions from Gray Consulting, Inc. DJB Specialties president, David Blank says “We know that GForce Promotions brings a strong reputation for delivering a quality purchasing experience along with a client base that expects the highest level of service with every transaction. We are confident that we are the right company to continue that tradition and build upon the existing success of both of our organizations.” DJB Specialties has been in business for over 20 years providing the highest quality in-house screen printing and embroidery services along with creative promotional items. Additionally, they are licensed through all major sportswear companies and currently outfit many local and national sporting tournaments and teams with uniforms and team spirit wear. GForce Promotions was created 8 years ago by Philadelphia meeting and event planning company Gray Consulting, Inc., to provide high-quality gifts for their clients’ meetings and incentive trips. With a focus on corporate marketing and event gifts for companies and associations of all sizes, GForce has grown in sales and customer base every year since. Gray Consulting president, Kathy Murphy says "It was critical for us to find a company who we were confident in that embraced the same level of innovation, creativity, and service that GForce provided and was capable of a seamless transition for our clients. We found this with DJB Specialties." Blank adds that “Nothing will change in the day to day activities of the current GForce business unit. All existing accounts will continue to be serviced at the highest level by acting Senior Account Executive Patrick Gallagher, who is transitioning with the GForce business unit. The opportunity to gain a respected industry veteran in Patrick, along with the amazing business relationships he has cultivated over 13 years as an account executive in the promotional sales industry was something we have looked forward to for some time.” With the acquisition of GForce we are now better positioned to compete with any team wear, corporate gift, and apparel decoration company in the Tri-State area,” says Blank. Washington, DC – Over 130 schools and districts from around the United States as well as from Canada and Mexico will receive 153 awards for “Promising Practices” in character education. Groveland Elementary School in Central Bucks School District will receive an award for fifth grade teacher, Scott Heydt’s, “6 Pillars of Leadership” program. Only two other schools in the state of Pennsylvania will receive this award. The Character Education Partnership (CEP) gives the annual awards for unique and specific exemplary practices that encourage the ethical, social, and academic growth of K–12 students through character education. By publicizing these awards, CEP hopes to recognize educators for their efforts and to encourage others to learn from and even replicate these successful initiatives. Winning practices included creative ways to engage parents and community members, encourage student voice and leadership, and offer students opportunities to serve others. “These educators have found exciting new ways to help and encourage all members of their school communities to be more involved and more caring,” stated Lara Maupin, program coordinator. “The results are kids that feel connected and are therefore more ready and able to learn.” Scott Heydt’s “6 Pillars of Leadership” program centers on personal responsibility, furthering what makes someone unique, and solidifying the important values in one’s life. This program empowers students to recognize their strengths and passions, to envision their future, and to build the courage to challenge their own integrity, all in the spirit of finding an avenue to serve others. Students have the opportunity to reflect on program content through service learning, self-assessments, reflection questions, creative writing assignments, community-building activities, guest speakers, and cornerstone activities such as a SuperFoods etiquette dinner. The also have the opportunity to identify their personal strengths using the StrengthsExplorer assessment tool. (www.StrengthsExplorer.com) “Mr. Heydt delivered much more than an academic, social, and emotional curriculum to his students. The students in Mr. Heydt's class were provided with very real opportunities to analyze themselves as leaders and apply the new learning in real-life situations. This combination of tangible, age-appropriate lessons, with opportunities to look within and then practice, made for a program that students and parents loved, and administration supported,” says Chad Watters, Groveland’s assistant principal. A special thank you is extended to DJB Specialties in New Britain, PA for their generous donation of T-shirts in conjunction with the program. Groveland Elementary School will receive its award at the 15th Annual National Forum on Character Education to be held October 17-19, 2008, in Arlington, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. In addition, all winning practices will be featured in CEP’s annual National Schools of Character publication and on the CEP Web site. The Promising Practices awards program is administered by CEP and made possible by generous support from the John Templeton Foundation, the UAW-GM Center for Human Resources, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation, and Lockheed Martin. Based in Washington, D.C., CEP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to helping schools develop people of good character for a just and compassionate society.
